Brief note on Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana: Internship Scheme for Unemployed Youth

Overview: The Government of Maharashtra has introduced the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, an initiative designed to provide internship opportunities to the unemployed youth of the state. This scheme aims to enhance the employability and skill set of young individuals, preparing them for a competitive job market.

Objectives: To enhance candidates' employability through practical training with entrepreneurs.

Implementing Agency: Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation along with Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Kaksh.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Candidates:

  • Should be in the age group of 18 to 35.
  • Minimum Education Criteria: 12th Pass/ITI/Diploma/Graduation / Post Graduation.
  • Should be the resident of Maharashtra.
  • For Industries & Establishments:

  • Should be working in Maharashtra.
  • Should registered with Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation web portal as an employer.
  • Should have established for 3 years.
  • Should registered with EPF, ESIC, GST, DPIT & Udyog Aadhar & have certificate of incorporation.
  • Salient Features of the Scheme:

  • Duration: Internships will be for 6 months.
  • Stipend: Interns will receive a monthly stipend as per their education qualification in the form of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Following table explains the stipend:
  • Participation: Open to both government establishments and private sector industries.
